Mindfulness X Workshop

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. The goal of mindfulness is to wake up to the inner workings of our mental, emotional, and physical processes.

About the event

A eight-week (16-hour) program, with Greg Lowry MSc CMHC RP(q) and Stacey Marion BA ChH AIOP

Mindfulness refers to a state of being fully present in the present moment, with acceptance and without judgement. Mindfulness has been proven to have many personal and professional benefits, including discipline, tolerance, calmness, and mental clarity.

This program is an introduction to mindfulness. Program participants may expect to learn specific meditation and mindfulness practices, that can be incorporated into their daily routine as a means to respond to the challenges we all face in our day-to-day lives. You may learn to better manage stress, fear, anxiety, depression, improve your coping skills, and improve quality of life.

Course content includes a participant workbook, guided mindful exercises with a skilled practitioner (the object of which is to develop non-judgmental, moment-to-moment awareness of the relationship between the body and mind), and to acknowledge our physical sensations and thoughts or feelings as they arise. We also strive to facilitate an understanding of the rationale for practice, to increase motivation, and information about the brain processes involved in mindfulness.

  • Mindful X 8 Week Workshop

This fee includes your 8 two hour workshops, a participant workbook, and access to two qualified practitioners.
